Tom Burke
Jonathan Daniel/Allsport
He is probably a DE in a LB body and while he is intriguing to most NFL teams, they are approaching him very cautiously. He plays much better than his athletic ability would indicate and because of his toughness and intensity, he is all over the field and has a non-stop motor. He has great productivity on the college level and he is a tremendous finisher. He has surprising strength and explosion for his size and uses a variety of pass rush moves to get to the quarterback. He is a liability if he lines up and drops into coverage. He is somewhat straight lined and a little stiff and does not project on the NFL level as a pass cover type player. He fits best as a 34 rush linebacker in the mold of a Kevin Greene and he would be at his best as a backside chase guy and special team performer. This is the type of player that you want on your football team, but you have to recognize his limitations and put him in situations that will maximize his productivity.
