John Thornton
He is a guy that seems to be quietly moving up some draft boards. He is a big, strong 2 gap type player that can anchor at the POA and is especially effective versus the run. He uses his hands well and he can win most short area fistfights with an OC or OG. He doesn't have a lot speed or outside range, but he can stuff the middle and shows enough lateral movement and quickness to make plays. Although his 40 time is decent, he doesn't play as fast and while his effort and intensity appear to be good, he isn't always as productive as he should be. The coaches seemed to like his toughness at the Senior Bowl and he has the ability to add a physical quality to a defensive line on the NFL level.
