More than a game TNT's Sager becomes a model citizenPosted: Friday January 29, 1999 08:06 PM
MIAMI (CNN/SI) -- Testarossa, Diablo, Viper, Jaguar, Boxster, Z3, Corvette, Ferrari ... and then the best rear-end in Hollywood. Actress Jennifer Lopez pulled up to the door and "Salsa Night" at the Forge in Miami Beach shifted into high gear. There's no telling who may stop by for this Latin Wednesday night mainstay, but on this night the parade of exotic cars was a throng of international celebrities, trend-setters and media moguls. Although too crowded to find room for Mike Shanahan and his Denver coaching staff, Dennis Rodman was able to make his reservation, as was the Mariners' Alex Rodriguez. Former Dallas coach Tom Landry had an open seat for one of his proteges -- Atlanta head coach Dan Reeves. Meanwhile, shimmering blondes, smoldering brunettes, warm-and-fiery redheads modeling the latest women's apparel and lingerie capped the evening at the Superstars of Fashion "Midnight Madness" on South Beach. A seductive sea of famous faces and bodies from Max Studio, Wilke-Rodriguez and Nicole Miller twisted and turned along the makeshift runway above the Clevelander Hotel pool as the overflow crowd went head over heels. Wearing Nicole Miller's latest line of Super Bowl neckwear, highlighting this and the seven previous Super Bowls in Miami, earned me the role of "ring girl, " allowing our TNT producers Erick Graham and Greg Pike backstage with a camera crew to record a behind-the-scenes look at some of the world's most sizzling models. This fashion aesthetic defined the phrase "the Super Bowl is more than a game," when "Amy" put on and took off the colorful electric blue and white spring collection from Russian designer Leon Max, and when Ester Canadas strolled down the runway in the pink, blue and yellow polka-dots inspired by the artist Romero Britto, we had highlights that Atlanta and Denver will find hard to surpass. This is the third of a party-crashing installment from Turner Sports' main reporter Craig Sager. Sager is serving as the Official SBTV Party Crasher, attending as many parties as possible during Super Bowl week.
