The main event TNT's Sager worms his way into the 'Party of the Year'Posted: Friday January 29, 1999 05:49 PM
MIAMI (CNN/SI) -- It was the place to meet the XXX Superstars, and I'm not talking about Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys who starred in Super Bowl XXX. These were "Rough Riding Cowboys and Sultry Saloon Girls," who were among the chosen list of guests invited to the Drama at the Bowl -- a wild-and-crazy off-beat event at Club Liquid in South Beach, hosted by basketball star Dennis Rodman and drag queen "Madam" Elaine Lancester. More than 20,000 flyers were distributed publicizing the event and it seemed that 20,000 or more filled the streets hoping to interact, touch, rub elbows or perhaps engage in a friction dance with the fun-loving elite who were partying inside. It was the first time that I had to hold hands with a drag queen to get into a party, but Madam Elaine used her -- his? -- charm with the Miami Beach Police to get myself and my Party Crashing TNT crew past the barricades, around the enforced fire-code limit, through a secret elevator and into a trio of theme literati unleashing their wild side. "The Main Room" played Top 40's and Funk with Super DJ Rich Mitchell. "The Situation Room" had Retro, Drag and Show with Tom Le Roe, while "The Lounge" was the XXX No-No Room where Rodman along with those who gravitate to him engaged in a passionate tryst that surely made Cupid, Venus, Eros and Aphrodite proud. Mrs. Worm, former "Baywatch Babe" Carmen Electra was out of town and unavailable for comment, but then again speaking parts were never her strong suit anyway -- at least not compared to her swimsuit. To fill the void from her absence, Rodman was accompanied by 20 sensuous showgirls from the world famous Gold Club in Atlanta, whom he personally flew to Miami along with club manager Ziggy Sicignano for love, friendship, fantasies or something else. Dennis was dressed in a periwinkle flouncy lace shirt with Turbulence stretch jeans of a slightly darken shade, which looked rather subtle compared to co-host Madame Elaine in her -- his? -- floor-length silk gown with drop earrings and evening heels. It was a night that left nothing to your imagination and for our TNT Party Crashing crew, it also included stops at Magic Johnson's Super Bowl Gala with the Backstreet Boys, Boys II Men, Daisy Fuentes, Queen Latifah, LL Cool J and just about every NFL player not competing in Sunday's game. One exception was Miami's Dan Marino, the NFL's Man of the Year, who proved he is the man when all 12 Hooters calendar girls showed up for his Super Reef Super Bowl VIP Party at Iguana Cantina in Fort Lauderdale. If there was one party I didn't want to leave it would have to be Marino's. I could have stayed there all 12 months, but then I wouldn't have got to hold hands with Madame Elaine, table dance with Crystal Storm, kamikaze with Rodman, nor engage in an exhilarating phenomenal event that was an evening to remember or perhaps in my case want to forget. This is the fourth of a party-crashing installment from Turner Sports' main reporter Craig Sager. Sager is serving as the Official SBTV Party Crasher, attending as many parties as possible during Super Bowl week.
