Cleveland Browns go for a Brown at No. 1 in the 2000 NFL Draft

Like Paul Brown and Jim Brown before him, Courtney Brown may be a cornerstone of the Cleveland Browns for years to come. The Browns used the first pick in the NFL Draft to select the Penn State defensive end. Sports Illustrated's Peter King reports Brown has agreed to a seven-year, $45-million deal. Several big-name players were still available on Day 2 of the draft, including Heisman Trophy runner-up Joe Hamilton, former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin, and Biletnikoff Award winner Troy Walters.
