Starter since his freshman year at strong safety. Has a trim waist, but is well-built and has the frame to carry more weight. Not an explosive run force defender, but he's a disciplined attacker who keeps his shoulders squared and can bend his knees. Secure tackler. A little hesitant and deliberate in his reactions. Good athlete, but not a natural coverage defender. Lacks fluid backpedal skills and hip turn. Gets into awkward positions and lacks a strong recovery burst. Situational type. Should be an effective special teams player.
