ATLANTA -- In a weekend of historic offensive firepower, no one burned more brightly than Kurt Warner. The St. Louis Rams quarterback threw five touchdown passes and connected on 27 of 33 attempts -- including an 11 of 12 stretch in the third quarter Sunday that put the game out of reach of the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings' Jeff George passed for 423 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort, much of the yardage coming after the game had been put away.
Fred Taylor of the Jacksonville Jaguars set a playoff record with his 90-yard run from scrimmage in the Jags 62-7 pounding of the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. Taylor scored a touchdown and finished the day with 135 yards on 18 carries.
Sunday, Eddie George of the Tennessee Titans burned the Indianapolis Colts for a touchdown and 162 yards rushing on 26 carries.
In the receiving corps, the Jaguars' Jimmy Smith had a big day, catching five passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Randy Moss caught two touchdown passes and gained a total of 188 yards on nine catches in the Vikings' loss.
Isaac Bruce of the Rams caught four passes for 133 yards and a touchdown, and running back Marshall Faulk had five catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Faulk also rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown.
