PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- It was the first time the Eagles reached the playoffs since 1996, and the oddsmakers predicted they'd lose.

As the team defied expectations Sunday, not only winning but winning big over Tampa Bay, fans reveled in the victory.

Daniel Lehan, 41, a heating oil company employee who lives in downtown Philadelphia, was overjoyed by the 21-3 win. He watched the game from a stool in Mace's Crossing, a barroom downtown, while wearing a replica of former player Andy Harmon's jersey.

"This win is tremendous. I've watched so many Eagles game where I've had to carry my Rolaids with me 'cause they were such nail-biters," Lehan said, picking up his unopened pack of Rolaids from the bar. "But today, there was never any question."

Lehan was there with Tracey Stolzer, 26, a Philadelphia office manager. Stolzer, the bartender's fiancee, had a small teddy bear wearing a Donavan McNabb jersey. The bear was a Christmas gift from Lehan.

"See? We brought Donavan McNabb with us," Stolzer said. "We had the karma going for this."

Next weekend's game against the New York Giants had the fans in a frenzy.

"We hate the Giants. They beat us in the last eight games," Lehan said.

"But we're going to win this time. We want it more. Third time's going to be the charm. We have the momentum," Stolzer said.

Philadelphia sports fans, who are often known for rowdy behavior, did not cause any problems for authorities, police said. There were some arrests at Veterans Stadium, mostly for drunken and disorderly conduct, but that happens routinely enough that the city has set up a special court to deal with arrests during Eagles games.
