A.J. Jones
Biography: Three-year starter who finished his senior season with 54/6/1. Junior totals included 37/4.5/3 when he was sidelined after
11 games with a season-ending knee injury.
Positives: "Relatively athletic weak side linebacker prospect who displays ability in space. Fluid changing direction, displays speed chasing the action in pursuit, and gets depth on pass drops. Makes plays in every direction of the field. Flashes force up the field on the blitz. Deceptive strength at the point of attack, holds his ground against blocks, and wraps up when tackling." Negatives: Marginally instinctive and late reacting to the action. Poor ball skills. Seems to have lost some quickness after the knee injury. Analysis: Jones was adequate on the collegiate level yet possesses poor measurables for the NFL. His best way onto an NFL roster is through special teams. Projection: FA |
