Mike Coughlin
Biography: "Physically gifted pocket passer that is a terrific developmental prospect for the next level. Sells the ball fakes, displays
good awareness in the pocket and throws with an over-the-top delivery. Remains poised, stands in the pocket and takes the
big hit in order to get the ball away. Displays good speed on throws, delivers the ball with solid passing fundamentals and
has the arm strength to make all the passes."
Positives: Struggles getting outside to tackle box to make the throw on the move. Rarely asked to throw the ball downfield in game conditions. Must improve his timing as receivers are consistently waiting on the ball. Negatives: Coughlin flew under the radar screen in the scouting community until the Boise State pro-day when he was a practice quarterback and turned heads with the ability to make all the NFL passes. He's a major project yet has all the physical skills necessary to play in the NFL and should get consideration in the late rounds of the draft. Analysis: Career backup that played in 16 games the past two seasons and completed 16 of the 28 passes he attempted. Projection: 7-FA
