Ricky Lumpkin
Biography: Two-year starter who finished with 21/5.5/1 as a senior after putting up junior totals of 26 tackles.
Positives: "Deceptively strong interior lineman with the ability to overpower opponents. Plays with leverage, drives up the field, and flashes power on the inside. Consistently displays the ability to hold the point. Fires off the snap with a solid first step, changes directions well, and makes plays in the box. Chases the action hard." Negatives: Must do a better job using his hands to protect himself and develop moves to get off blocks. Average skills in pursuit. Analysis: Lumpkin is a workman-type lineman in the middle of the field who does the little things well to allow teammates to make plays. He lacks classic size yet should get consideration on the inside of a four-man line. Projection: FA |
