Positives: "Well-built ball carrier who is best running on the inside. Patient, displays good vision, and quickly finds running lanes. Waits for blocks develop, has good quickness, and a strong lower body. Runs with an aggressive style, driving his shoulders into defenders and trying to pick up extra yardage. Breaks tackles and picks up yardage off initial contact. Helps the quarterback sell ball fakes. Solid pass catcher out of the backfield who nicely adjusts to errant throws and catches the ball with his hands."

Negatives: Not an elusive runner who creates yardage or makes defenders miss. Must pick up intensity as a blocker. Came into his senior season poorly conditioned.

Analysis: "When on his game, Royster is a running back who can control the situation as an interior ball carrier. He does not possess the skills to be a feature runner at the next level, but could be effective as a second running back or rotational player if he's focused."
