Eugene Clifford
Biography: "Ohio State transfer who's started the past three seasons. All-Conference selection since his junior season and an All-American
as a senior. Led Tennessee State in tackles last year, posting 85/4/10 after 60/2/5 the prior year."
Positives: "Big safety with good athleticism. Fluid moving sideline to sideline, gets outside the numbers, and covers a lot of area on the field. Displays good quickness and footwork moving in every direction and works well with teammates. Effectively quarterbacks the secondary. Displays ball skills in center field. Gets force up the field on the blitz." Negatives: Does more hitting than wrap-up tackling. Inefficient and does not take proper angles to the action. Does not consistently play with physicality. Analysis: Clifford looks the part in the secondary and shows the ability to dominate play on occasion. He possesses the size and ball skills to make an NFL roster as a true center fielder but must step up his game and become more physical. Projection: FA |
