PLAYERS
Biography: Junior college transfer who has started the past two seasons and was awarded all-conference honors on defense and special
teams last season. Also named as an All-American special teams player in 2011. Senior totals on defense included 53 tackles/3
interceptions/18 pass breakups. Also averaged 30.6 yards on 34 kick returns with 2 TDs. Junior numbers included 44 tackles
and six interceptions with a 26.4 yard average on 44 kick returns.
Positives: Small yet explosive defensive back who will make his mark in the NFL on special teams. Effectively reads the action, works hard to get off blocks and comes up the field to defend the run. Fluid turning his hips in transition to run with opponents down the field. Physical and fights hard to defend passes. Picks up big yardage as a return specialist, seeing the field, following blocks and finding open space. Negatives: Possesses just an average burst to the ball out of his plant. Limited recovery speed. Shows hesitation in his game. Analysis: Scott does not have great defensive back skills for the next level yet will be kept on a roster if he replicates his special teams ability in camp this summer. Projection: FA |
