PLAYERS
Biography: Junior college transfer who's been rotational starter the past two years.
Positives: Large, strong blocker with a lot of upside. Blocks with good lean, stays square and anchors in pass protection. Gets his hands into opponents and turns them off the line when run blocking. Shows the ability to adjust and knock pass rushers from their angle of attack with good punch. Displays good awareness and stays with the action. More athletic than his size/speed numbers would lead one to believe. Negatives: Lacks balance and skill in anything other than a small area. Struggles sliding out in space. Ineffective in motion. Struggled with an ankle injury last season. Analysis: Simmons showed a lot of skill in 2010 but was unable to develop his game last year due to his ankle injury. He's a sleeper offensive line prospect who can be used at guard or potentially grow into a right tackle if given the opportunity to improve his game. Projection: FA |
