PLAYERS
Biography: Junior college transfer who started six games as a senior, posting 9 receptions/88 yards/1 TD after posting junior totals
of 7/96/1.
Positives: Nice-sized tight end with a well-rounded game. Displays good quickness and gives effort in all areas of his game. Uses his frame to shield away opponents and protect the pass, works back to the quarterback and finds the clearing in the defense. Stays square as a blocker, sets with a wide base and seals opponents from the action. Extends to make the reception away from his frame. Negatives: Possesses a long, thin build and has marginal blocking strength. Not a downfield threat. Improved as a receiver in 2011 but still unpolished in many areas. Analysis: Ford is a serviceable prospect with a body that should add strength and improve over the course of time. He's worth stashing on a practice squad with the hopes he'll eventually develop into a third tight end at the next level. Projection: FA
