Biography: Junior college transfer awarded all-conference honors the last two years. Senior totals included 40 tackles/15 tackles for loss/8.5 sacks after 21/14/14 as a junior.

Positives: Explosive pass rushing college prospect who burst onto the scene in 2010. Athletic, fast in all directions and plays with terrific leverage. Quickly changes direction or immediately alters his angle of attack without losing momentum. Rarely off his feet, plays with good balance and uses his hands well. Fast off the edge rushing the passer and also displays lateral speed pursuing the action from the back side.

Negatives: Lacks bulk and easily controlled at the point by a single blocker. Marginal run defender.

Analysis: Irvin has been one of the better pass rushers in college football the past two years and has made a large number of plays behind the line of scrimmage. He projects well as a 3-4 outside linebacker yet must polish his game and learn to make plays in reverse rather than straight-ahead. He offers a good amount of upside and the potential to be a very productive NFL player in the future.
