PLAYERS
Biography: Junior college transfer awarded all-conference honors the past two seasons as both a receiver and return specialist. Led New
Mexico State in receiving last season with 53 receptions/976 yards/9 TDs while also averaging 26.1 yards on 48 kick returns
with three more scores. Averaged 27.1 yards on 52 kick returns the prior season.
Positives: Quick, explosive skill prospect that consistently picks up big chunks of yardage from the line of scrimmage. Fluid releasing off the snap, shows a quick burst and has the ability to separate from defenders. Comes back to the ball out of breaks, displays good eye/hand coordination and uses his frame to shield away defenders. Displays sharpness running routes, quickly gets into breaks and stays low on exit. Very quick transitioning from making the catch to running after the reception. Possesses outstanding concentration, plays with excellent balance and consistently comes away with the downfield reception in a crowd. Outstanding kick returner that patiently waits for blocks to develop then finds the small openings on the field. Negatives: Not a natural hand catcher and all too often unnecessarily lets the pass get inside him. Choppy footed into pass routes. Lazily comes off the line if he's not directly involved in the play. Loses out in battles. Analysis: Rogers is a speedy athlete with the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. He's a fifth receiver that will be kept on a roster primarily for his return skills. Projection: 7th
