PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter who saw most of his action at left guard.
Positives: Explosive lineman who displays skill blocking in motion. Moves well on his feet, quick pulling across the line of scrimmage and jolts opponents at the point of attack. Keeps his head on a swivel, works well with teammates and keeps his feet moving throughout the action. Blocks with good lean, gets his hands into defenders and attacks assignments. Strong and turns opponents off the line. Works to hit as many defenders as possible off a single snap. Anchors at the point and holds his ground in pass protection. Negatives: Not a natural knee bender. Struggles sliding in space. Looks poorly conditioned and in need of an NFL weight training program. Analysis: Troutman was consistent and durable at Penn State and enters the NFL with a good degree of upside potential. He must improve his conditioning and consistently play with proper fundamentals but could develop into a starting lineman. Projection: 7th |
