Biography: LSU transfer saw significant starting action as a sophomore and junior at Oklahoma. Used at both tackle spots and right guard. Tore a tendon in his right knee in March of 2011 and rarely saw the field as a senior.
Positives: One-time highly rated offensive tackle prospect has been inconsistent on the field. Has good size and strength; turns defenders off the line as a run blocker. Is large enough to engulf opponents. Works his hands throughout the action and displays good punch at the point of attack.
Negatives: Not a natural knee bender. Lacks balance. Does not make good use of blocking angles. Coming off a knee injury.
Analysis: Jones flashed ability dating to his LSU playing career but never displayed consistency on the field and struggled with a knee injury last year. He's a developmental prospect who should get consideration on a practice squad if he's able to pass medical exams.
