Biography: Four-year starter awarded all-conference honors since his sophomore season and named to numerous All-American teams after his junior and senior campaigns. Totals last season included 23 tackles/9 tackles for loss/4.5 sacks after he had 54/16/6.5 as a junior.
Positives: Explosive one gap tackle coming off a disappointing campaign. Fires off the snap with a terrific first step, plays with good pad level and gets leverage on opponents. Keeps his feet moving on contact, flashes strength in his lower body and knocks blockers off the ball. Fluid if asked to twist or stunt, quickly changes direction and shows the ability to pursue the action from all angles. Works hard until the whistle blows.
Negatives: Does not consistently play with good balance. Easily knocked from plays by the first block. Must develop more moves and become quicker shedding blocks.
Analysis: Entering the senior season Williams was thought to be a draftable prospect as a lineman who could play the three technique position or lineup at tackle in a conventional four-man line. He was slow out of the gate in 2011 and never lived up to expectations yet should be given consideration in the late rounds based on his past play.
