Biography: Three-year starter at left tackle for Mississippi.
Positives: Well-sized lineman who is best in confined quarters. Quickly gets into blocks, stays square and effectively uses his hands to knock defenders from their angle of attack. Works to bend his knees, keeps his head on a swivel and picks up stunts or twists thrown by the defense. Works hard to get shoulder pads on defenders.
Negatives: Overextends into blocks and can be exploited by athletic defenders. Struggles getting out off the edge to stop speed rushers and lacks smooth or quick footwork.
Analysis: Sowell was a productive and durable player for Mississippi yet lacks the athletics skills to stay on the left side in the NFL. He will get consideration at right tackle or possibly guard, but possesses minimal upside.
