Biography: Three-year starter at defensive end who finished with 38 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss as a senior after posting 44/7.5/2.5 the prior season.
Positives: Undersized college defensive end who will be moved to linebacker at the next level. Explosive off the snap, plays with good pad level and works his hands to protect himself. Fluid changing direction, rarely off his feet and drives up the field. Easily moves down the line in pursuit of the action and plays faster than his 40 time. Occasionally stands up over tackle and shows good footwork in every direction of the field.
Negatives: Undersized and easily disrupted by the first block. Rarely used in space. May be seeking a career outside professional football.
Analysis: Dorty was a tenacious defender on the college level, but he lacks the size/speed numbers to be a draftable prospect. His approach to the game and competitive nature will get him long looks as an outside linebacker/special teams player if he chooses to play this summer.
