Biography: Rotated into the lineup the past two seasons. Senior rushing totals included 122 attempts/568 yards/4 TDs with 11 receptions. Junior numbers on the ground included 171/913/9.
Positives: Strong interior ballcarrier who picks up the difficult yardage. Patient, waits for blocks to develop and displays good running vision. Keeps his feet moving on contact, displays solid quickness carrying the ball and above average footwork in a small area. Runs with an aggressive style, puts his shoulders into defenders and falls forward when tackled. Adequate burst through the hole. Picks up blocking assignments.
Negatives: Runs with an upright style. Must gather himself changing direction and loses momentum trying to cut back against the grain. Marginal speed and quickness.
Analysis: Tyler showed flashes during his USC career yet displayed little in the way of consistency. He could make an NFL roster as a short-yardage back if he improves his blocking and pass catching.
