Positives: Focused, dependable receiver best in the underneath coverage. Smart and consistently finds the open space on the field or comes back to the ball to make himself an available target. Displays good concentration, solid eye/hand coordination and consistently makes the reception away from his frame. Extends his hands to offer the quarterback a target, gets vertical over defenders and highpoints the throw. Easily makes the reception in stride. Uses his frame to shield away defenders and protect the pass. Makes the difficult catch in contorted positions. Exposes himself to the big hit in order to come away with the throw. Strong running after the catch and doles out punishment.
Negatives: One-speed receiver who lacks a second gear. Does not get downfield separation or beat opponents in a foot race. Injury history will send up red flags.
Analysis: Toone is a consistent pass catcher who is consistently doubled by opponents yet seemingly always comes away with the reception. He offers potential as a second wideout at the next level, but durability concerns will cause him to be drafted much later than his talents warrant.
