PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors the past two seasons. Recipient of the 2011 ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy, awarded
to the top offensive lineman in the conference.
Positives: Top college tackle with marginal upside for the next level. Quickly sets in pass protection, keeps his head on a swivel and displays good awareness. Sets with a wide base, bends his knees and stays square. Keeps his feet moving throughout the action and gets movement run blocking. Quickly gets out to the second level and removes linebackers from the action. Negatives: Struggles handling athletic opponents. Lacks footwork in space. Off-balance in pass protection. Analysis: DeChristopher was a stalwart for Virginia Tech at the right tackle spot but is probably better off at guard in the NFL. He does not possess great upside yet has a feel for the position and understanding of the game, which could help him catch on as an inexpensive utility blocker. Projection: FA |
