Biography: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a senior with totals of 44 tackles/13 tackles for loss/6 sacks. Junior numbers included 40/8/2.
Positives: Solid small school defensive lineman who lacks great measurables for the next level. Works his hands throughout the action, keeps his feet moving up the field and nicely redirects to ballcarriers. Plays with good pad level, quickly changes direction and effectively makes plays in space. Immediately alters his angle of attack and displays the ability to get to the action with a quick first step.
Negatives: Lacks bulk and strength at the point and gets handled by opponents. Marginal speed off the edge. Shows minimal explosion in his game.
Analysis: Stewart was a solid college player, but he lacks the size for defensive end at the next level and the speed to line up at outside linebacker. He offers possibilities as a pass rush specialist/special teams player yet must improve his playing strength.
