Biography: Four-year starter at left tackle awarded all-conference honors after his senior and junior campaigns.
Positives: Terrific pass blocking left tackle with a solid game. Works to bend his knees, stays square and has the ability to adjust to defenders. Blocks with leverage, keeps the opponent in front of him and a terrific pass protector who makes good use of angles. Gets his hands into defenders and fights to keep opponents away. Patient, moves well on his feet and displays the ability to pull across the line of scrimmage and get out front then block on the second level.
Negatives: Lacks balance and tends to get tall in his stance as the play proceeds. Does not show classic footwork sliding out off the edge. Late with his hands on occasion.
Analysis: McCants has been productive and durable and showed consistent progress in his game the past three seasons. He's flashed ability at every turn and has nice upside. McCants offers starting potential at a number of positions on the offensive line if he continues to progress and complete his game.
