Positives: Smallish cornerback who impacts games returning kicks. Displays good awareness on the field, shows solid route recognition and has a burst of closing speed to the play. Fluid transitioning off the line with opponents, effectively reads receivers? eyes and locates the pass in the air. Voluntarily defends the run and is a hard hitter. Terrific special teams player who sets up returns, finds the open lanes and quickly gets through them.
Negatives: Lacks great top-end speed. Does not quickly break to the throw out of his plant. Outmatched by larger receivers.
Analysis: McCoy is a special teams prospect who can be used in certain dime packages at the next level.
