Biography: Two-year starter at right tackle.
Positives: Tough small-area blocker with a nice feel for the position. Plays with good knee bend, makes effective use of blocking angles and stays square. Keeps the opponent in front of him, works his hands throughout the action and does enough to get a pad on defenders, knocking them from their angle of attack. Blocks with leverage, keeps his feet moving throughout the action and displays good blocking vision. Correctly places his hands into defenders and steers them from the action. Works blocks hard.
Negatives: Lacks overall footwork and lateral blocking range. Struggles handling pass rushers and susceptible to inside moves. Overextends into blocks on occasion.
Analysis: Dever is a nice-sized lineman with growth potential who will get consideration at right tackle or inside at offensive guard. Best in a small area, he could be a solid rotational lineman in a ball control offense.
