Biography: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors after his junior and senior seasons.
Positives: Hardworking college left tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Blocks with good lean, keeps his feet moving and can slide in pass protection. Plays with leverage, stays square and is a solid position blocker who seals defenders from the action. Makes good use of angles, quick in all his actions and fights hard until the whistle blows. Moves relatively well on his feet, quick out to the second level and can redirect or adjust to linebackers. Immediately sets up in pass protection and jolts opponents at the point of attack, knocking them from their pass rush angle.
Negatives: Lacks a dominant base and tends to fall off blocks. Possesses average size for any position on the offensive line. May not have the foot speed to be a pure pulling guard in the NFL.
Analysis: Flading was productive and durable on the college level and displays solid knowledge of the position. He projects as a backup zone blocking lineman at the next level.
