Negatives: Lacks quick change-of-direction ability and lateral speed. Slow getting out to the flanks in coverage. Lacks a fluid and quick backpedal.

Analysis: Smith is an impressive looking defensive back who struggles getting outside the numbers to make plays and would be best as a traditional strong safety or in a zone system.
