PLAYERS
Biography: Four-year starter that began his career at left guard before moving to center as a sophomore. All-conference selection after
his senior and junior seasons.
Positives: Hardworking blocker who moves well in space. Stays square, keeps his head on a swivel and displays the ability to slide his feet. Effective with his hands, makes good use of angles and keeps opponents in front of him. Quickly gets into blocks and displays the ability to pull across the line of scrimmage and hit a moving target. Physical blocker who works to seal defenders from the action. Negatives: Lacks classic size and is not a dominant drive blocker in the middle of the line. Analysis: Petrus was a terrific college lineman who impacted the Connecticut lineup as a freshman. He offers potential in a zone blocking scheme yet must add bulk to his frame and physically mature before he'll see any real playing time at the next level. Projection: FA |
