PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter who's been used at both right tackle and right guard.
Positives: Large, strong who is blocker best in a small area. Immediately gets his hands into defenders, stays square and works blocks hard. Jolts opponents with good punch, keeps the defender in front of him and seals opponents from the action. Large enough to block down on opponents or remove them from the action with his frame. Keeps his feet moving throughout the action and keeps his head on a swivel. Negatives: Ducks his head and overextends into blocks. Rumbles around the field and is ineffective in motion. Lacks footwork sliding out off the edge and has limited lateral blocking range. Analysis: Asper was a solid college lineman but has limited upside in the NFL. The ability to play several positions on the offensive line helps his cause to make a roster as an inexpensive utility lineman. Projection: 7-FA |
