PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter at linebacker awarded all-conference honors last season. Senior totals included 119 tackles/7.5 tackles
for loss/.5 sacks and an interception. Junior numbers included 93 tackles, when he struggled with a sprained shoulder for
part of the season.
Positives: Tough run-defending safety who is best in the box. Instinctive, moves well laterally and constantly flies around the ball trying to make positive plays. Gets his teammates in proper position, stays with assignments and does not bite on ball fakes. Breaks down well, takes good angles to the action and wraps up tackling. Negatives: Lacks speed to the sidelines and does not show a burst to the play. Marginal cover skills. Analysis: Richard gets the most from his skills and has been a terrific run defender at South Carolina State the past three seasons. He projects as a traditional strong safety in the NFL and plays with a special teams mentality. Projection: FA |
