Positives: Dependable pass catching tight end who is best in motion. Relatively athletic and displays good eye/hand coordination. Easily adjusts to the errant throw and makes the difficult catch. Consistent hand catcher who extends to make the reception away from his frame. Uses his frame to shield away opponents and takes the big hit yet holds onto the ball. Occasionally lined up as a lead blocker and does a nice job clearing the running lanes. Blocks with good lean and works to bend his knees.

Negatives: Has marginal football strength and struggles as an in-line blocker. Adequate speed but not a true downfield threat.

Analysis: Rodriguez was a dependable college tight end, but his size will be a limiting factor at the next level. He has enough football skill to make a roster as a move tight end or H-back.
