PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors after his sophomore and junior seasons and named an All-American in 2009.
Averaged 44.2 yards on 58 punts last year with a long of 62 yards. Also had 24 punts of 50 yards or longer that year. Career-best

Positives: Big-legged punter who can flip the field. Has a smooth kicking motion, gets nice extension and has the ball explode off his foot. Gets terrific hang time on punts, allowing coverage teams to get down the field and make the tackle. Displays the ability to directional kick. Can flip the field and kick his team out of a jam. Negatives: Prone to kicking the ball off the side of his foot on occasion. Takes a while to get the ball off his foot. Analysis: Butler was a consistent punter with a big leg and the ability to pin opponents deep. Rarely having punts returned, he possesses the skill to develop into an NFL punter, though he must be quicker getting the ball off his foot. Projection: 6th |
