Biography: Suspended for the 2011 season after receiving impermissible benefits and not being honest with NCAA investigators. Junior totals of 2010 included 15 receptions/157 yards. Led Miami in receiving as a true freshman in 2008 with 31/332/3.
Positives: Nice-sized receiver who flashed skill throughout his college career. Comes back to the ball out of breaks, finds the clearing in the defense and extends to make the reception away from his frame. Strong receiver who wins out in battles and makes tough catches in traffic. Displays good eye/hand coordination and focus.
Negatives: Marginally productive on the college level. Best football was played almost three years ago. Not a true downfield threat.
Analysis: Johnson looked like he had the makings of the next star receiver from the Miami program in 2008, but his career has been on a downslide ever since. He possesses the underlying skills to develop into a fifth receiver at the next level yet needs patience as he gets his game back on track.
