Biography: Three-year starter used at both left and right tackle. All-conference selection after his junior season.
Positives: Relatively athletic college tackle who stands out in pass protection. Sets with a wide base, stays square and is a terrific position blocker who keeps opponents in front of him. Quickly gets his hands up, keeps his feet moving and has better than average footwork and lateral range. Shows the ability to adjust, gets leverage on defenders and knocks them from their angle of attack. Works his hands throughout the action.
Negatives: Not light on his feet or effective if asked to pull across the line of scrimmage and block in motion. Lacks dominant lower body strength.
Analysis: Allen was productive and durable on the college level. He is a serviceable prospect with the ability to line up at a number of positions on the offensive line and has starting potential in the NFL.
