PLAYERS
Biography: Two-year starter named Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 2011 with 237 attempts/1259 yards/12 TDs rushing and 39 receptions/319
yards/3 TDs. Junior totals included ground numbers of 157/1029/6 with 26/190/1 as a receiver.
Positives: Compact ballcarrier who is best running between the tackles. Displays terrific vision, instincts and effectively uses blocks everywhere on the field. Quick-footed in a small area with the ability to bounce around piles or avoid defenders. Shows a burst in the open field, keeps his feet moving on contact and rarely brought down by the first defender. Deceptively strong in his lower body and falls forward when tackled. Keeps the play inbounds trying to pick up as much yardage as possible. Effective receiver out of the backfield. Negatives: Does not display the playing speed or lateral running skills to turn the corner. Lacks top size for an interior runner. Analysis: Pead was very productive the past three seasons and is a multipurpose running back who picks up yardage with his legs, as a receiver and offers return skills. He'll be a solid addition at the next level as a situational runner/third-down back. Projection: 2-3 ![]() Carlos M. Saavedra/SI
