PLAYERS
Biography: Four-year starter awarded all-conference honors the past two seasons. All-America receiver after his senior season. Last
year?s receiving totals included 108 receptions/1663 yards/14 TDs. Junior numbers included 78/952/7. Had 66/740/4 as a sophomore.
Led Baylor in receiving each of the past three seasons.
Positives: Vertical wideout has a complete game. Fluid and smooth, he fires off the snap, displays quickness into breaks and comes back to the ball on exit. Consistently extends his hands and offers the quarterback a target, almost always makes the reception away from his frame and is very quick transitioning from making the catch to running after the reception. Elusive handling the ball, keeps the play inbounds and works to pick up positive yardage. Battles to make the reception, getting vertical over opponents to adjust to passes and make tough catches. Fast in every direction, runs solid crossing routes and easily makes over-the-shoulder catches. Has outstanding eye/hand coordination and comes away with the tough reception with defenders draped on him. Gives effort blocking downfield and gets results. Negatives: Possesses adequate size, but he?s not a big, sturdy receiver. Analysis: Wright has all the skills necessary to be a number one wideout. He possesses tremendous pass-catching skills and there's a lot to like about his game. He'll be downgraded by some teams as he measures just under 6-feet, but expect Wright to make a major impact for the team that selects him. Projection: 1st ![]() Patrick Green/ Icon SMI
