Positives: High-percentage passer who is best throwing against the underneath coverage. Patient in the pocket, remains poised and quickly locates the open receiver. Senses the rush and steps up to avoid it or gets outside the pocket buying time for receivers. Displays a nice sense of knowing where receivers are on the field. Throws with good timing, rarely has receivers waiting for the ball and is very accurate in the short and intermediate field. Places passes into receivers? hands and always gives them a chance to catch the ball. Effectively commands and controls the offense. Negatives: Struggles with his downfield accuracy. Loses velocity on the ball throwing in motion. Not adverse to putting the ball into coverage. Occasionally slow to locate the safety. Analysis: Mitchell was an ultra-productive small school passer who lacks the size and physical skills to be anything other than a backup quarterback in a timing offense at the next level. Projection: FA
