David DeCastro
Round 1, Pick 24
Position: G
Class:  Jr
School: Stanford
HT: 6'5"
WT: 307 lbs.
40 Time: 5.32
Conference: Pac-12
Biography: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors the past two years and named to numerous All-American teams as a junior.

Positives: Tough, nasty blocker with a complete game. Explosive off the snap, quickly gets into blocks and easily turns defenders from the line. Solid run blocker who opens up big lanes for the ballcarrier and works hard until the whistle blows. Bends his knees, plays with leverage and keeps his feet moving. Gets his hands up into opponents and keeps them active throughout the action. Violently punches defenders at the point of attack. Flashes the ability to quickly pull across the line of scrimmage, gets positioning on linebackers blocking in motion and seals them from the action. Stays square and keeps the defender in front of him.

Negatives: Mechanical sliding his feet in pass protection and lacks top lateral range. Shows stiffness in his game on occasion.

Analysis: DeCastro has been a terrific lineman at Stamford the past three years and is a dominant run blocker who also handles the opposition in pass protection. He has a lot of upside and should break into a starting lineup early into his NFL career and stay there for years to come.

Projection: 1st
