Biography: Three-year starter who's struggled with several concussions the past two years. Senior totals included 35 receptions/376 yards/2 TDs in 10 games. Played in seven games as a junior, posting 25/396/3. Sophomore totals included career-best numbers of 37/682/5.
Positives: Athletic and natural pass catcher who will be red flagged due to his concussion history. Possesses a burst off the line, comes back to the ball out of breaks and effectively uses his frame to protect the pass. Double covered by opponents yet gets vertical and grabs the ball from the air. Plays big, displays good quickness and consistently extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame. Shows good vision and follows blocks in the open field running after the reception.
Negatives: Is not much of a downfield threat, despite his 40 time. Missed the second half of his junior season due to a concussion and then had his college career cut short by another concussion in 2011.
Analysis: Owusu possesses all the skills necessary to be a productive second receiver in the NFL. He offers natural and reliable hands, solid route running skills and the ability to create yardage after the catch. His multiple concussions the past two years will push him from a second day choice into the draft?s late rounds and Owusu could end up unselected when all is said and done.
