Positives: Tall, fluid defensive back with a nice upside. Agile, displays little stiffness in his game and easily moves about the field. Quickly flips his hips turning to run with opponents off the line. Plays with balance and body control, getting vertical to defend the throw. Quick-footed in reverse, displays a burst out of his plant and fast closing to the action. Displays good hands for interceptions.

Negatives: Indecisive and marginally instinctive. Occasionally blows assignments.

Analysis: Lane is a developing cornerback who flashed cover skills the past two years and is a prospect who will only get better with experience and proper coaching.
