Biography: Three-year starter who struggled with back and ankle injuries last season, finishing the year with just 23 tackles. Junior totals included a career-best 96 tackles/1 interceptions/8 pass breakups. Intercepted just a single pass in his college career.
Positives: One-time highly rated safety who struggled to elevate his game. Solid run defender and wraps up when tackling. Fluid moving in every direction, can get outside the numbers and displays the ability to make plays on the ball. Plays with an aggressive style and attacks ballcarriers. Efficient and takes good angles to the action. Solid straight-line burst of speed.
Negatives: Looked indecisive, lacked instincts as a senior and was very hesitant. Struggles in man coverage situations. Gets caught up the field at times.
Analysis: As a sophomore Dye showed flashes of being a top safety prospect but his game regressed. Unlikely to be drafted, he's a free agent prospect who will have to make it on special teams and work his way into dime packages.
