Biography: Played in six games as a senior then was dismissed from the program for violation of team rules. Totals last year included 25 receptions/286 yards/1 TD. Started 12 games as a junior and finished with 78/832/4. Sophomore totals included 61/770/5 with four starts.
Positives: Nice-sized possession receiver who can positively impact the game when focused. Sells routes, gets vertical and exposes himself to the big hit to come away with the ball. Nicely adjusts to the pass in midair to make the reception. Uses his frame as an advantage to shield away defenders. Big enough and strong enough to make the difficult catch in a crowd.
Negatives: Lazily comes off the line on occasion. Struggles getting separation and more of an underneath receiver. Lacks natural pass catching hands. Does not always win out in battles as he should. Unnecessarily lets passes get inside him. Minimal burst in his game.
Analysis: Belcher looked like a star in the making after his sophomore season of 2009 and slightly improved the following year but watched his play take a major step back last year. He possesses the size and skill necessary to be a fourth receiver with possibilities as a red zone target or third-down receiver. He must get his priorities in order to have any chance of making it out of camp this summer.
