Biography: Three-year starter who posted career-best numbers of 23 receptions/244 yards/4 TDs as a senior after putting up 14/199/2 during his junior campaign.
Positives: Solid tight end prospect developing a complete game. Fundamentally sound, bends his knees and sets with a wide base. Quickly gets into blocks, stays square and seals defenders from the action. Plays with good lean. Fluid moving about the field, plays faster than his 40 time and is a solid pass catcher who nicely adjusts to errant throws. Extends to make the reception away from his frame. Quickly releases off the line into pass routes and makes the difficult catch in stride.
Negatives: Does not always finish blocks. Not a deep threat who?s going to consistently get into the secondary and create mismatches. Marginally productive in college.
Analysis: Koger was out of place in Michigan's offense during his sophomore and junior seasons, but his game took off last year in the Wolverines? new system. He possesses the measurables and skill to be a backup tight end and could be one of the bigger steals at the position in this year's draft.
