PLAYERS
Biography: Four-year starter awarded all-conference honors since his sophomore season. Led Utah State in tackles each of the last three
seasons, posting 147 tackles/11.5 tackles for loss/4 sacks and two interceptions as a senior. Junior totals included 138/8/.5
after he had 115 tackles as a sophomore.
Positives: Stout run-defending inside linebacker with a solid game. Remains disciplined with assignments, displays a good head for the ball and works hard to get involved in the action. Aggressive, scrapes well laterally and gets out to the flanks to make plays in space. Possesses a solid change-of-direction, easily adjusts to the action and keeps his feet and hands active throughout the play. Instinctive, takes good angles to the action and quickly locates the ballcarrier. Flies around the field attempting to make the tackle. Negatives: Displays minimal quickness in his game. Possesses marginal speed in pursuit. Will struggle in man coverage situations against tight ends. Analysis: Wagner was a productive tackling machine for Utah State and has the ability to line-up in a variety of NFL defensive systems. He plays smart, tough football and should quickly break into a starting lineup at the next level. Projection: 2nd ![]() Boyd Ivey/Icon SMI
