Biography: Played in nine games last season, starting five before being dismissed from the Nevada program due to a violation of team rules. Finished with 135 attempts/704 yards/3 TDs on the ground while adding 11 receptions/42 yards/2 TDs. Part-time player the prior two years.
Positives: Short, low-to-the-ground ballcarrier with an aggressive style. Elusive, strings several moves together over the course of a single run and makes defenders miss. Instinctive ballcarrier with vision. Patient, waits for blocks develop and effectively follows them everywhere on the field. Finds the running lanes, quickly gets through them and displays the ability to pick up big chunks of yardage from the line of scrimmage. Runs with good lean, picks his way on the inside and loses little momentum changing direction. Solid receiver out of the backfield. Sees the blitz and picks up blocking assignments.
Negatives: Small and easily tackled by the first defender. Lacks the speed necessary to turn the corner.
Analysis: Ball seemed to be pulling together the pieces of his game last season before a suspension sidelined him. He possesses the football skills necessary to be a third-down back/situational runner yet will only have a career in the NFL if he's able to rid himself of off-the-field distractions.
